About The Event

The main event today is to see the solar eclipse and we will have telescopes set up to allow SAFE viewing of the event. We will also be obtaining some eclipse glasses to allow some direct observation as well.

In addition, we will be showing our young astronomers how to make pinhole cameras so that they can observe the event using their own devices. Please bring a cardboard box and some white card if you want to do this.

We will also organise some short talks covering eclipses, the sun and stars in general.

If the day is cloudy, we will have some further activities in reserve, and might be able to show images of the eclipse as seen from less cloudy locations.

If you'd like to see an animation showing what the eclipse should look like from Cambridge please follow this link: https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/in/uk/cambridge?iso=20250329
